Delivery & retries
Failed deliveries are retried for about 45 hours, and every attempt is logged for 30 days.
Retry schedule#
Each event is tried right away. If your endpoint doesn’t answer 2xx in time, Worxley tries again on this schedule:
| Attempt | Waits after the previous one |
|---|---|
| 1 | Immediately |
| 2 | 1 minute |
| 3 | 5 minutes |
| 4 | 30 minutes |
| 5 | 2 hours |
| 6 | 6 hours |
| 7 | 12 hours |
| 8 | 24 hours, then marked failed |
What to expect#
- That’s about 45 hours of retrying, so a weekend outage on your side loses nothing.
- A delivery can arrive more than once. Deduplicate on the body’s
id. - Retries resend the same body with a fresh signature timestamp.
Disabled endpoints#
After 15 failed deliveries in a row the endpoint is switched off and the admin who added it is notified. Fix your server, then switch it back on in Settings.
Delivery log#
Every delivery, with its status code, attempts and next retry, is in the endpoint’s Deliveries log for 30 days. Failed ones can be retried from there.
