Idempotency

Send an Idempotency-Key on creates so a retried request never creates a record twice.

Where it applies#

Creates on /leads, /accounts, /deals and /objects/…/records accept an Idempotency-Key header. Use any unique string from your side, such as a form submission id or order number.

How it works#

  • The first request with a key runs normally.
  • A repeat with the same key within 24 hours gets the original response back, and nothing is created twice.
  • A repeat that arrives while the first is still running gets 409. Retry shortly.
Always send a key on creates

Networks drop responses, and without a key a retry creates a duplicate.
